The 2007 LifeRing Congress
May 4, 5, and 6, 2007
Denver, Colorado
The Annual LifeRing Congresses are participatory events.  They're for:
  • Socializing -- Meet people you only know online, refresh old friendships.
  • Education -- Hear guest speakers, participate in workshops, get up to speed on recovery topics.
  • Democracy -- Elect LifeRing Board of Directors members, decide LifeRing policy issues.

Do you have an idea, a proposal, a plan or project, or a person you want to nominate for the Board? Want to become involved in Congress planning? Please contact the LifeRing Service Center ASAP.

Friday evening May 4: Reception 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

8:00 - 9:00 a.m.  Registration, coffee & doughnuts

9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.  Meditation as a Recovery Tool.  Guest speaker Lloyd Burton, director of the Denver Insight Meditation Society.

11:00 a.m. to Noon:  Convenor's Round Table

12:00 Lunch (on your own)

1:30 - 3:00 pm.:  Introduction to Motivational Interviewing.  Guest speaker Stephen Bentley LCSW, CAC III, Coordinator of Substance Abuse Services at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

3:00 - 4:00 p.m.  The Role of Mirror Neurons in Addiction and Recovery.  Martin Nicolaus ("Marty N."), LifeRing CEO and author of Recovery By Choice.

4:00 - 5:00 p.m.  Chat reunion and chat hosting issues round table. 

6:30 p.m.  Banquet, at Le Central Restaurant (Map).  Click for banquet menu.

Sunday Morning May 6:

8:30 a.m. to Noon: Delegates' Assembly
     At Capitol Hill Community Center, 1290 Williams St. (Map)
