- Does the item fall within the 3S philosophy of LifeRing: Sobriety,
Secularity, Self-Help?
- Is the item likely to be of interest to LifeRing members?
- Does the item qualify as information from members to members? (as
opposed to, for example, promoting LifeRing to those outside of the
organization)
- Is the item relevant to the theme of the issue (for issues that have
themes) or is it related to another item in this issue?
- How much space is available in this issue?
- Does the item fit into an available space in this issue?
- Is the item timely? For example, does the item have a deadline or date
associated with it, or does the item pertain to a season, holiday, or personal
event?
- Is the item a regular feature or within the regular content areas of
the newsletter? Regular features and content categories may receive
precedence over submissions “at large.”
- Is the item of sufficient quality for publication or does it require
significant rework?
- Has the item been published elsewhere? (We will not publish items
without appropriate permission from the copyright holder.)
- Does the item include accompanying graphics, photos, or other visuals?
(Visuals make items more interesting to readers.)
Other criteria may be applied based on the discretion of the LifeLines
Editorial Board. The LifeLines Editorial Board has final say on all content
issues and reserves the right to refuse to publish any submitted
items for any reason.
The LifeLines Edtorial Board reserves the right to interpret, implement, and
revise this policy.
