From a Child's Heart

My momma is an addict
My momma she is sick
She doesn't come home at night
Because she wants a hit
She isn't here when I wake up
Or to greet me for the day
She doesn't get to watch me bathe
Or go outside to play
She doesn't get to see me smile
At times I don't know how
I wonder where my momma is
And what she's doing now
She's looking out the window
She's looking on the floor
My momma turned her back on me
And walked outside the door
I know my momma loves me
But she is hooked on crack
Tomorrow I'll be waiting
For my momma to come back
Momma I am lonely
And I am really sad
All I want is a life
With my mom and dad
