I mean it: I'm sorry

Only once about every six weeks was I so bad
Statistically I broke something
Like the ego of that one guy,
Like the vase your mother gave us
About 2 or 3% of the time that
I was drunk
Not too hurtful overall...
Didn't need to apologize anymore
You must have understood that
My miserable and sorrowful state was
so profound, so real.
It was deep, man.
So deep that I did not have the
Strength to muster the energy to explain it all
Again
And physically, felt like someone must have
Beat me up. Did someone? (You didn't, did you?)
So did appreciate the way your sad eyes said
You couldn't wait until everything was better again.
