What are Preferred Providers?

"Where can I find a treatment facility that does not cram the 12 Steps down my throat?"   "I have tried the 12-Step treatment approach and it just didn't work for me.  I want to try something else."  "I have heard there are alternatives to the 12-Step treatment method -- but where can I find them?"

Questions like these come to unhooked.com and to the various LifeRing email lists all the time.

Preferred Providers here are programs, practice groups, or individual practitioners who offer something broader than only the 12-Step method.  Some of these providers are predominantly 12-Step but also offer other options.  Some of them are based on other approaches than 12-Step altogether.  All providers listed here are primarily abstinence-oriented, although a few may also support other options. Contact the provider for details.

These listings are based on information provided by former clients/patients and/or by the treatment provider.  Unhooked.com cannot and does not check the information for accuracy and can offer no guarantees that a listed provider is as described or that its services meet the consumer's expectations or live up to any particular standard of professional quality.  You, the patient/client/consumer, can help by sharing your information about treatment providers here.

Please contact webmaster@unhooked.com with your referrals and your feedback based on your experiences. There is no charge for a basic preferred provider listing.  Providers shown with the LifeRing logo symbol host LifeRing meetings on site.
